Watchers of the CBC news program The National were told by Gretta Vosper, a United Church Minister in Toronto, that “It would be at least upwards of 50% of the clergy in the United Church who don’t believe in a theistic, supernatural, God".
A curious, smart, and energetic United Church minister from Vancouver, Rev. Richard Bott, wondered where Ms. Vosper got her data from, so he called her. He told a group of us last weekend that she said that her data was anecdotal. But Rev. Bott was still curious, so he did a survey. He now has the results, and they are pretty interesting.
Douglas Todd of the Vancouver Sun thought so too. He's a far better writer than I am, so I'll let you read it for yourself.
